Description
Tucked away down a private lane in the village of Edale, Hope Valley Derbyshire, find a Glamping haven, known as The Gathering.
Offering a combination of four luxurious Safari tents, and a Victorian shooting lodge, within the location of an upland working farm at the start of The Pennine Way.
Each lodge sleeps six in a double and two twin rooms. Sunset verandas have comfortable outdoor furniture with woollen rugs, fire cauldron and gas BBQ. The lodges look out onto dry stone walled sheep pastures with the moorland beyond.
The lodge, built in 1881 in the height of Victorian society as a retreat for the wealthy, to enjoy shooting weekends in the Peak District moorland. In 2016 the building underwent an extensive makeover, transformed into luxury holiday accommodation.
Offering a self-contained apartment with two en-suite bedrooms and open plan living area, with a glazed wall with views up the mountain to the west.
Two further bedrooms include a family room which sleeps 4, and the minstrels’ room which can be super-king or twin as you require.
Dining is in the former pony stalls, with seating for 36 and a modern kitchen adjacent. A bar and a lounge also provide you with plenty of alternatives for all members of the family to find their comfort zone, and then come together for a game of billiards, a dance, or a grand dinner.
The communal space of the lodge is wheelchair accessible.
Where ever you choose to stay, The Gathering has open access to the fabulous Peak District moorland all around, the countryside is yours to explore with no restrictions. Just down the private lane are the pubs and cafes of Edale village. Wander in the opposite direction for waterfalls, wild bilberries, heather moorland and rocky crags.
The Gathering is perfect for families or large gatherings alike.
