Description
Settlebeck Cottage sleeps 4 and is situated in the thriving market town of Sedbergh. It is a stone built, 200 year old, cosy retreat offering contemporary and stylish accommodation just a few minutes’ walk from the river and the centre of town.
Sedbergh is England’s Book Town and nestles at the foot of the beautifully unspoilt Howgills, free from crowds of tourists and walkers. There are several excellent pubs and cafes serving great food, as well as an inspiring deli and an award winning butcher.
Both Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale are a 20 minute car journey away and the cottage is perfectly located on the doorstep of both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. There are many local places of interest to visit including Fairfield Mill, the picturesque village of Dent and the renowned Ingleton Waterfalls.
There is parking for one car immediately outside the cottage and a small sitting area at the front. A two-minute stroll takes you down to the tennis courts and the river where several picnic areas offer the perfect barbecue spot and even the option to swim in a natural swimming pool of the River Rothay! A pretty beck runs immediately to the rear of the cottage. There are many walks directly from the cottage itself. Choose from a stroll along the river or a more ambitious fell climb.
