Description
Explore the Trent and Mersey Canal in style, aboard the Silver Ann 2. The Silver Ann is a pet and eco friendly narrow boat, offering self-catering accommodation for two guests.
Glide across the water at a leisurely pace of 4mph and enjoy the wildlife and surroundings, The Trent and Mersey canal takes boats through some of the most charming and historic scenes that our waterways have to offer, from the towering  Anderton Boat Lift, to the heritage-rich industrial sites of Stoke-on-Trent’s potteries district, and the nature reserve at picturesque Fradley Junction.
Closer to Silver Ann 2 mooring, guests can visit the picturesque town of Shardlow, considered to be Britain’s most complete serving example of a canal village.
A few miles south of Stone, the Trent and Mersey meets the Staffordshire and Worcester at Great Haywood Junction, while the rivers Trent and Soar also converge. The sweeping estates of the very grand Shugborough Hall, (National Trust) and the twin villages of Great and Little Haywood make it a worthwhile spot for an hour or two’s wander. Quaint milestones, water pumps and half-beamed pubs line the roadside, while there is further interest for Tolkien enthusiasts – he spent recuperative years here with his new wife, after being injured on active service in the Great War.
Not to mention the Fradley Junction, opened in 1790 where the Coventry Canal joins the Trent & Mersey Canal. Here there are services for the boats as well as cafes, the Swan pub and the ever popular Fradley Pool Nature Reserve for visitors.
Along the canal guests can enjoy  unspoilt countryside for walking, towpath cycling opportunities, geocaching routes plus lots of good places to eat, drink and be entertained you can either sit back and relax and take in the scenery or get out there and explore.
The Silver Ann 2, is home from home in many respects, offering a well equipped kitchenette, comfortable double bed, cosy sitting area complete with wood burning stove and a toilet and shower room.
