Description
Lea Hurst was the much loved summer home of Florence Nightingales’ family, located on the edge of the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire.
The house has been lovingly furnished with many elegant period pieces and Nightingale artefacts, and maintains the genuine warmth and comfort of a family home.
Lea Hurst offers 4 historic suites, with each one providing an exquisite mix of style, elegance and comfort. All 4 suites offer beautiful views over parkland to the Derwent Valley, a World Heritage Site.
Florence Nightingale once wrote  “it breaks my heart to leave Lea Hurst”, a sentiment that guests who stay here might share with our great pioneering nurse.
What better time to pay tribute to Florence Nightingale than in 2020, the bicentenary of her birth.
