Description
The Salt Box, is the birth child of two sustainable minded Cooks, creating a celebration of seasonal food and open-fire cookery. Offering cookery workshops and outdoor feasts in the woodland setting of South Nutfield, Surrey.
Cooking over an open fire is the oldest and most primitive method of cooking known to man and The Salt Box are firm believers that everything tastes better cooked over an open flame! Their cookery intends to show you just what’s possible by using different techniques and guiding you through a multitude of recipes that you can also recreate in the kitchen, if the British rain gets the better of you.
The Salt Box Team celebrate seasonal produce and strive to reconnect people with what’s on their plate through their nose-to-tail and root-to-fruit ethos.
Alongside their guided cookery courses, guests can join the Salt Box team on one of their feats. Each feast is unique, with a set menu inspired by the season, Â from seasonal suppers to breakfast in the woods, lakeside picnics to teas in the trees, join Salt Box for a meal with a difference. Taking children and adults alike on a journey to discover the immersive world of the great outdoors and encouraging a life in meaningful contact with nature. Find The Salt Box Team beneath the trees surrounded by wisps of smoke and the crackle and pop of the fire, 365 days a year.
