Description
Kelmarsh Hall and Gardens is an elegant Palladian style country house with a prevailing history of the 20th century. Built in the 1730s, Kelmarsh hall was the beloved home to three families across two hundred and fifty years.
Surrounding the hall are historic gardens, restored to evoke their early 20th century designs, with a unique walled garden at the heart.
Kelmarsh Hall and Gardens are both open for the public to enjoy.
Points of interest include the ‘below stairs’ exhibition within the Hall. The servants quarters of Kelmarsh Hall have been lovingly renovated to provide visitors an immersive experience, bringing history to life.
The gardens at Kelmarsh Hall are designated by English Heritage (Historic England) as Grade II*, a garden of national significance. The gardens surrounding the Hall are known for their relaxed charm and ‘haphazard luxuriance’. With every season there is wonder for visitors to enjoy, from golden rivers if daffodils in the spring to fragrant Roses in June.
Throughout the year Kelmarsh Hall puts on family friendly days out, including Story Telling in The Garden, and their annual Dahlia Festival.
Kelmarsh Hall offers visitors the chance to relax after their step back in time with a lot of tea, or a plate of something tasty in their Cafe.
