Description
Located just a few miles north of Taunton, Somerset, at Hestercombe visitors can lose themselves in fifty acres of lakes, temples, cascades, tranquil woodland walks, formal terraces, vivid colours and views that are truly breath taking.
Visitors will find a unique combination of three centuries of garden design: Coplestone Warre Bampfylde’s Georgian landscape garden, the Victorian terrace and shrubbery and the stunning Edwardian formal garden design by Sir Edwin Lutyens and Gertrude Jekyll.
Hestercombe has undergone acclaimed restoration works and continues to develop and grow, giving visitors a stunning setting to explore, learn and relax. Whilst visiting, take a trip into the Cafe, Gift Shop, Plant Centre, Contemporary Art Gallery, second hand bookshop and historic Column Room Restaurant for a sumptuous afternoon tea or lunch (Weds – Sun only).
Hestercombe Gardens are open all year round from 10am to 5.30pm, except on Christmas Day. There is an all-access route around the gardens and a ‘tramper’ vehicle is available to hire. Dogs are welcome throughout the gardens, cafe and shop.
