The Speech House is a hidden treasure nestled in the depth of The Forest of Dean. The hotel is historically important, established as a Hunting Lodge for Charles II, dating back to 1669. Now The Speech house offers luxury accommodation and eating, in sympathetically regal surrounds.
Stay in one of the hotels ten rooms, and explore the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, which offers guests an abundance of activities throughout the year, Including; falconry experiences, photography courses, cycling and walking … or enjoy the Tea and Tree trial, a guided tour of The Verderers Court inside The Speech House, a historic tour that allows guests to learn of the historic importance, as well as the rule of Verderers in the present time.
And if all of the above makes you feel peckish, The Speech House offers three dining areas, from casual dining in The Orangery to a la carte dining in their main restaurant “The Verderers” situated in the Verderers Court, which is one of only two such courts in the UK. In fact the only working court where you can dine in the UK.
